The Strokes to play Madison Square Garden

Following the recent unveiling of their new single, 'Under Cover Of Darkness', The Strokes have now revealed some exciting tour dates.

The first show to be announced will take place at New York City's iconic venue, Madison Square Garden, on April 1, which is around 2 weeks after their new album 'Angles' will be made available. Tickets for this gig will be on sale from February 25.

In addition to the Manhattan show, the band will also perform at the following venues:

  • March 23 - Chelsea - The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV
  • July 16 - Super Bock, Super Rock in Lisbon, Portugal
  • July 14 to 17 - Benicassim Festival in Spain
  • August 13 - Summer Sonic in Tokyo, Japan
  • August 14 - Summer Sonic in Osaka, Japan

The band also feature in the latest edition of NME and explain that there was a certain level of resentment amongst the members during the recording of their new album 'Angles':

"When [The Strokes] is described more negatively, it seems like I come in going, 'This is how it is, and if you don't like it, back off.' But it's never like that. I just want to have a creative, constructive, fun conversation. And I just think that, for whatever reason, we never pulled that off and there was resentment."
