Nathan Sykes insists that Ariana Grande has "nothing to worry about" after it was revealed that he has written a song about her.

The famous duo dated for a number of months but eventually called it a day in 2013.

The Wanted man has now launched a solo career and one of the songs on his upcoming debut album will refer to their break-up.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Sykes stated that the track isn't offensive towards Grande.

He said: "One of the songs is about Ariana. She hasn't heard it yet. Knowing Ari she'll corner me the next time we bump into each other and demand I play her the song.

"It is a nice song. She has nothing to worry about. I'm not scared of her reaction. It's very complimentary and emotional actually. She will hear it and think 'Oh so you do have feelings'."
