The Wanted's efforts to break America are underway after they announced that they will be performing on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show.

The band recently announced a 2012 US tour as momentum surrounding the band stateside grows.

And yesterday (January 7) band member Max George confirmed on Twitter that the quintet will be performing on the popular TV show on Monday (January 9). He said:

"It's official peeps, The Wanted are coming to the US in 2 days to perform on @TheEllenShow Monday, airing Tuesday!! Everyone come see us!!!!"

"You better be ready @TheEllenShow ... @thewantedmusic are coming!... Be glad we came!!!"

Late last year the band revealed that they have made it onto a number of radio playlists in the US and that they were in talks with a "really big" management company.
