The Wanted on forward American girls and their most expensive purchases

Boyband The Wanted took ITV's Daybreak behind-the-scenes on their latest video shoot for 'Chasing The Sun' and opened up about their stateside fans, strange experiences and what luxuries their success has afforded them.

The lads explained that visually 'Chasing The Sun', which was written by Example, is "more performance based" and Tom Parker joked that their label bosses described it as "the master performance".

When asked what their female fans in America are like in comparison to those back home in the UK, Parker jumped in and confessed they're not as shy:

"They're pretty outgoing! Very forward, very forward. Which is a good thing I suppose!"

Jay McGuinness, who revealed that a girl once asked for a lock of his hair then swallowed it, joked that having a British accent in the USA is a bonus because the girls like it and said: Britsh girls are beautiful, we love them, but for someone who's average looking at best American girls like an accent."

Nathan Sykes explained that sometimes they've had trouble getting people in the U.S. to understand them because several members of the band have distinctive accents, so they have "banned" Parker from public speaking:

"Unless you have a clean British accent they can't understand what you're saying, so Tom is banned form talking!"

When quizzed on their purchases since reaching international heights of fame, The Wanted gave details of what they've splashed out on. Siva Kaneswaran bought "an emerald green Mini Cooper", Jay McGuinness treated his mum to a new bathroom, Nathan Skyes is waiting to buy a house and Tom Parker took the prize for the most extravagant splurge as he rewarded himself with "a flat overlooking the Thames".
