The Wanted have said that they would be interested in collaborating with One Direction for charity.

The two groups have been plunged into something of a minor boyband battle in some sections of the media - without true foundation.

Speaking to Hollyscoop, The Wanted's Nathan Sykes said suggestions of the two bands being rivals are false. He said:

"I think it's very expected from the media always trying to put two bands together and trying to start a rivalry. We have no issue with them whatsoever."

And, whetting the appetites of pop music lovers worldwide, he said that The Wanted would be game for a collaboration with the One Direction lads for charity. He said:

"I think the collaboration between the two bands could generate a lot of cash maybe and we would actually be willing to do it for charity."
