The Wanted's Max George happy his band aren't "cheesy"

The Wanted star Max George has admitted he is happy that his band don't quite fit the identity of an archetypal pop group.

The lads aren't quite as squeaky clean as other UK boybands such as One Direction and it seems they are glad they don't quite match.

George said that he reckons The Wanted are a "hybrid" of a pop group and an actual music band, due to the fact they all play instruments and that they don't do dancing. He said:

"If you had to tick all the boxes of what's a boyband, I don't think we'd fit. We're not the most attractive bunch that has ever been in the pop world. We don't dance. But we can all play instruments, which is what is good about us. We don't want to be the stereotypical boyband."

George added: "We don't want to be cheesy. I'd say we are sort of a mix between a boyband and a band – a hybrid."
