The Wanted star downgraded by hotel for looking like a "tramp"

The Wanted's Nathan Sykes has admitted that was once denied a plush hotel room because he looked too scruffy.

The singer told The Sun that he was once working on a video for nearly 24 hours and was looking to get his room bumped up to something a little more comfortable.

However, the plan went awry after the hotel staff thought he looked too much like a "tramp" for an upgrade - with the 'Glad You Came' man actually downgraded. He said:

"We'd been on a 20-hour video shoot and I was hoping I'd be upgraded to a nice room. I was wearing a track suit. I walked in and the man on reception downgraded me to the lowest possible room because I looked like a tramp."

His bandmate Max George meanwhile wasn't subject to the same fate, with Sykes adding:

"[The receptionist] apparently felt bad afterwards because I was so polite. But I walked into Max's room and he had this amazing, huge luxury suite."
