The Wanted talk new albums and going solo

UK based boyband The Wanted have confessed that they have so much new material that it's possible two albums may be released this year.

The lads, who won Favourite Breakout Artist at the People's Choice Awards this week, explained that because they are yet to release their new album they have just continued writing so there is more than enough new music to fill a couple of records:

"We kept on writing this whole year and never released anything, apart from a few singles. And we just found now we have quite a lot of material and we've got more writing to come. We just said to the fans, 'You've waited a long time for another album, so just so you know, there's a chance there's two this year."

Member Jay McGuiness also weighed in on the group's American success, adding: "At the minute, America seems quite enamoured with boybands, so that's quite nice. But we've known each other since 2009. Right now it feels like instant success - people think that isn't going to last - but we've been doing it for a long time."

Tom Parker then discussed the longevity of their career as a boyband and joked that he wouldn't fancy going solo anyway because he enjoys the company of the other guys too much:

"We're happy with what we're doing at the moment. You can never say never, but I think we're all very comfortable in the band and we all get on with each other. And I'd find being a solo artist boring! I like being with you four idiots."
