The Wanted have opened up about the fate of bandmate Nathan Sykes.

The singer recently underwent surgery on his vocal cord after a hemorrhaging nodule was found, with his recovery period set at months.

Speaking to E!, the group suggested that Sykes is doing well - and whatever happens to his voice, he will always be in The Wanted.

Jay McGuiness said: "Whether his vocal range is affected or his singing, then he's definitely always going to be a part of the group."

Tom Parker meanwhile added: "He's doing alright. We won't know probably for another month or so, until he actually makes a recovery and starts singing again. But he's doing good."
