Tulisa wanted to be an archaeologist before she started singing

Tulisa Contostavlos has revealed a somewhat unusual childhood career dream.

Whereas many children want to grow up to have careers in entertainment or football, for example, Tulisa wanted to be an archaeologist.

She said that she was interested in dinosaurs and unearthing bones - but the 'Live It Up' star conceded that time wasn't on her side, so she decided to start singing. Tulisa said:

"When I was seven, I wanted to dig up dinosaur bones. I just thought it will be so long until I can be an archaeologist, so I picked up a mic."

As previously reported, Tulisa recently confirmed that her next single would be a ballad.

She told ITV breakfast show Lorraine that whilst she is usually more known for more up-tempo urban tracks than ballads, the new single is still 'Tulisa'.
