The Reklaws share nostalgic video for "Where I'm From" out today

08 MAY, 2020 (TORONTO, ON) – Universal Music Canada recording artists and CCMA Award-winners The Reklaws, release video for their new single “Where I’m From” today.

The nostalgic video reflects the tight knit family that Jenna and Stuart Walker (The Reklaws) are part of and documents the family’s journey with the duo on their rise to success; from performing at the pig races on their family farm to performing on stage to a crowd of thousands across the country. The concept for the video, directed by Ben Knechtel, came to be as a result of the current Covid-19 pandemic. When The Reklaws realised they wouldn’t be able to shoot a standard music video for the brand new single, they went back to their roots; spending hours combing through old family photos and home movies.

About the song, The Reklaws shared, “Where I’m From" reminds us of our childhood where the majority of our time was spent at home, with family and neighbours who were our closest friends in our hometown which felt like the whole world. “ they continued. “We hope this song reminds you of those special times and memories in your own world!”

Raised on their family farm in rural Ontario, Jenna and Stuart Walker, signed their first major record deal with Universal Music in 2017. Their second single “Long Live the Night” kicked off what would become a massive 2018. Beyond rapidly achieving platinum-certification, the single would become the most-streamed domestic song of all Canadian country artists released in 2018, win the 2019 CCMA for top-selling Canadian single of the year and it was selected as the theme song for the Canadian Football League’s (“CFL”) Thursday Night Football for the 2018 & 2019 seasons.

Most recently, the duo released a single, ``Can't Help Myself” with their long time country music hero, Dean Brody. They were also nominated for Group of the Year at the 2020 JUNO Awards marking the first time in over 20-years that a Country group was included in the category. There’s no doubt that The Reklaws are poised to be Country’s next superstars.
