Aminé continues on his promise to change perceptions and defy expectations. First paying homage to his past on “Shimmy,” declaring 2020 as his with a co-directed Portland love letter (watch below) which locked the gamut of fanfare and 20 Million global streams! Continuing to expand his influence, 5x platinum certified artist (for breakout-smash “Caroline”) appeared on HBO’s Insecure this season and locked writer/comedian Jak Knight from ABC's Black-ish fame for a closing skit on another album track “RiRi” which arrived last week alongside a co-directed visual filmed in quarantine with a Taylor Rooks cameo among others, made with long-time video collaborator Jack Begert (“Shimmy,” “Reel It In,” “Blackjack”) — WATCH HERE! Artists who move culture forward create their own. Aminé does just that for Portland’s music scene, hip-hop and the culture at large — buoyed by the stats, “amiable, inventive… idiosyncratic…most intriguing” titles from an early NY Times cosign, surrounding debut LP Good For You and forward.
