VALLEY ANNOUNCE NEW EP sucks to see you doing better OUT OCTOBER 23

RELEASE THE ACOUSTIC VERSION OF “hiccup”

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Universal Music Canada

After their latest track, “hiccup,” hit one million streams in under a month, JUNO nominated, indie-pop band, VALLEY share the acoustic version of the song today with Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. “hiccup” (acoustic) arrives alongside the announcement of a six-song EP, sucks to see you doing better, which is set to be released October 23 with the pre-order available now.

sucks to see you doing better features six-tracks including the previously released “nevermind”, “hiccup” plus the latest acoustic version alongside three brand new tracks, see the full tracklisting below. On the EP, VALLEY describe, “sucks to see you doing better” is a collection of songs that we wrote while in a very transitional period within the band and in our personal lives. It’s funny how even the slightest bit of success can trick you into thinking you’re something you’re not. Seeing old friends from high school after a big tour who say things like ‘you guys are killing it; you must be living somewhere exotic like Prague!?’ Actually, I’m still living with my parents in my hometown and working at Starbucks, sorry to disappoint.”

VALLEY has spent the past two years developing and becoming one of the top internationally streamed Canadian-domestic acts worldwide. Using their voices to help Gen-Z normalize much needed conversations about mental health, VALLEY strive to build a safe-space for listeners to embrace when they’re feeling alone during dark times of lingering negativity, struggles with apathy and other tremulous emotions. This connection with their fans helped the alt-pop ensemble of friends build an organic buzz. With only a pair of self-written, self-produced, debut releases under their belt (including their EP This Room Is White and full-length MAYBE), the band has collected nearly 53 million streams on Spotify alone, a 2020 JUNO Award Nomination, support slots with Lennon Stella and The Band Camino on sold out North American tours in 2019, and a confirmed support billing with LovelyTheBand once the tour world reopens.
