“Girls Like Us” is the second single from an artist you should already have on your radar going into 2021. The 18 year old German singer/songwriter has had a whirlwind year after her first single “Control” went viral worldwide, thanks to her powerful voice and its equally powerful message. Her follow-up song has already showed signs of being much bigger, and has gone on to receive high-praise from a host of tastemakers in the media such as Guardian, Zane Lowe, People Magazine, Teen Vogue, Gal-Dem, Scott Mills & Molly King at BBCR1, Billboard, The Line of Best Fit, & Clash.

Already armed with a legion of loving fans, who have followed her since she began sharing covers of her favourite songs online, Zoe’s impressive vocals and ability to connect shine through once again. Talking about the origins of Girls Like Us, Zoe explains “for me it was the hardest feeling to grow up in a world that you feel doesn’t accept you. We all have insecurities but this is what makes us beautiful.”

Zoe’s lyrics send a message of togetherness and solidarity to girls around the world who are feeling the pressures of society. It’s a middle finger to the impossible beauty standards which are still being peddled by brands, influencers and algorithms.

“We’re walking through a world with blinded eyes,” she says, “at the end of the day we all go to bed without make-up with the ugliest clothes and wake up with the messiest hair on earth."
