R&B sensation Usher stars as Sugar Ray Leonard in the highly anticipated movie "Hands of Stone" and he has opened up about the project in a new interview with Ryan Seacrest. 

During an interview with On Air with Ryan this week, the "Burn" star explained that the film's director Jonathan Jakubowicz asked him to audition because he was impressed by Usher's understanding of choreography:

"[Jakubowicz] said, 'I've seen some of your acting, but what I'm most impressed with is your ability to understand choreography because of what Sugar Ray Leonard represented as it relates to movement in the ring.' I recognised it as an incredible acting piece as well, in addition to the fact that there was that boy-like nature, that kind of all-American look that I think I could pull off."

The film is scheduled for release on August 26.
