Awards aren't important to Usher

R&B hitmaker Usher has revealed that awards and recognition aren't important to him and that the only thing that really matters is making a difference.

The 'OMG' star, who earlier this year spoke with London teens about knife crime, told Britain's Hello! magazine that "doing something for the good of others" is more rewarding than any presitigious accolade:

"I tend to do things that are motivating for others and continue to be creative, open-minded and believe in my dreams. At this stage, doing something for the good of others is bigger than an award, bigger than a new album or new bling."

He added that his philanthropic nature creeps in to all aspects of his life and he just really enjoys taking the time to speak honestly with the people he comes across:

"I love to travel and see the world, taking in art museums. I really enjoyed the Louvre when I was there not so long ago. I just love to talk to people as much as I can, talking about what's going on in their life and what they're experiencing."
