Dondi’s latest album “Give Me Your Love” has been catching the attention of many since its release earlier this year. The album has lead to him winning 2 silver medals from the Global Music Awards for Best Emerging Artist and Best Male Vocalist for his track “A Little Love Song” off of this album. The title track has also taken the #32 spot on the FMQB top 200 (Hot A/C / Top 40 chart), topping out Adele’s “Send My Love” and The Weekend’s “In The Night” – not to mention also beating out tracks by Twenty One Pilots and Drake.

When the album was released, Dondi was acknowledged by WDSR’s DJ DM Dubb as “the man who’s going to bring back old school R&B.” Some prominent DJs have expressed that today’s R&B lacks the element of storytelling. Dondi’s music not only tells stories, but touches the heart with relatable topics.

Dondi will be playing the Bourbon & Branch in Philadelphia on November 21st, so if you’re in town this is going to be a show that you’re not going to want to miss.

The writing and production of the album have an original approach that make Dondi’s sound easily recognizable and truly his own. The songs slide from true old school R&B to more contemporary upbeat sounds, including rap, which gives this album a broad audience appeal, making him one of the hottest R&B singer/songwriters to hit the music industry charts in recent times.

Dondi has come up through the ranks and has paid his dues. Singing at the young age of eight, he was recruited by Dr. Carlton Lake of The Philadelphia Musical Academy, to sing with his world famous boys’ choir. Dondi later attended Philadelphia High School & College for the Performing Arts, where he studied vocal music, composition and music theory. During that time he was also a member of Philadelphia’s All City Chorus.

Now, and for the last twenty years, Dondi has been the engaging front man for Philadelphia’s premier horn band, “JellyRoll” and most recently became a proud member of “The Recording Academy.”

The City of Philadelphia has many things of which to be proud, and now they can add R&B singer/songwriter, Dondi, to that impressive list.
