Songwriter Albert Hammond, who has penned tracks for the likes of Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin in the past, has revealed that Westlife might be reforming in the future. 

Chatting to Britain's Daily Star newspaper this week, Hammond explained that he recently spent some time with music mogul Louis Walsh, who told him that he has plans to reunite the beloved group and might need some songs writing for them to record:

"I was with Louis just now in Ireland, and he asked me for some songs because he says, 'I'm going to bring back Westlife so can you write some songs for me.'"

Westlife's Nicky Byrne told press earlier this year that a reunion might be on the cards because their 20th anniversary is coming up:

"I don't think it would take much to get us back together. In a couple of years' time it will be the 20th anniversary and you could probably use that and maybe people will be interested. It's about wanting to do it at the right time."

Update: Kian Egan from Westlife has since shared an article on Twitter that reports a reunion is set to happen and accompanied it with a simple caption that read, "sorry, but again... NOT TRUE."
