London-based sister act, Bloom Twins, have unveiled their new single ‘Amnesia’, to be taken from their forthcoming debut album due out later this year. The track, a perfect example of the girls’ “dark pop”, serves up haunting dual vocals set against an electro backbone.

The track was produced by one of London’s best-kept secrets, Anthony Marshall. The UK songwriter, musician and producer has written with some of some of the biggest and brightest stars who have shaped today’s musical landscape. Boasting an impressive CV, he’s worked with the likes of superstars Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Pet Shop Boys, plus UK chart-topper Craig David, to name a few.

In celebration of the release of ‘Amnesia’, the duo will be playing a special intimate set at the North Laine Brewhouse at this year’s Alternative Escape Festival in Brighton.

Born and raised in a small town outside of Kiev in the Ukraine, 19-year-old identical twins, Sonia and Anna Kuprienko, were both classically trained, becoming accomplished musicians and singers at an early age. After uploading their debut track ‘Fahrenheit’ to YouTube in 2013 – and the girls’ signing to Select Model Management – Bloom Twins had a double impact on both music and fashion, opening the doors to profile pieces in publications such as Vogue, i-D, The Guardian, Daily Mail and The Sunday Times.

Following the release in early 2014 of a politically-charged cover version of the classic Bob Marley track ‘Get Up, Stand Up’, in sympathy with the national uprising in Ukraine, the girls were featured on BBC’s Newsnight with Jeremy Paxman, and graced the pages of the UK’s national broadsheet newspapers.

As a result, they decided to leave the political turmoil at home behind and move to London where they were able to pursue their music. The sound that has emerged is an intoxicating mix, shaped by their unusual background and perspective, crossing over several genres of music. They fuse stylish electronica with haunting melodies, delivered in their distinctive vocal style, and embellished with the sound of the flute, harmonica and piano, creating truly unique results.

Throughout 2014 Bloom Twins continued to build their online presence releasing a string of new songs and videos, which generated big social media attention. They also performed at a series of exclusive live events from The Great Escape to Hermes’s Flaneur Experience in London, Heart Ibiza, the Summer Series at Somerset House, and the iconic Ronnie Scotts.

Since then, fashion titles including Vogue, Wonderland and Hunger have heralded them further, along with Bloom Twins being named as one of MTV’s Artist Of The Week.

In 2015, they played several headline shows around London and made an appearance in UNICEF’s Imagine campaign alongside Katy Perry and Will.i.am. They finished the year as the opening act for Duran Duran on their Paper Gods UK arena tour, which included a stunning performance at The O2 in London.

Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes was so impressed by the twins that he has recorded and produced the majority of their forthcoming debut album.

Ahead of that album release, ‘Amnesia’, shows that Bloom Twins have fulfilled their early promise and are set to be one of the most exciting new artists on the pop scene.
