Whitney Houston’s GRAMMY Award-winning hit “I Will Always Love You” has officially crossed 1 billion views on YouTube. This marks the first solo artist entry of music videos from the ‘90s to join YouTube’s Billion Views club and fourth overall following Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain,” Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and The Cranberries’ “Zombie.”

Originally written and recorded by Dolly Parton in 1973, “I Will Always Love You” scored massive success in 1992 when Whitney Houston recorded her version alongside her film debut in “The Bodyguard.” Winning over critics and fans alike, Whitney Houston’s version of the song spent 14 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is one of the best-selling singles of all time.

While “I Will Always Love You” is Whitney Houston’s first music video to cross the billion views mark, she’s had tremendous success on YouTube. Some additional stats include:

• “I Will Always Love You” has averaged over 350K views a day globally in 2020.
• Whitney Houston has seen 986M views over the past 12 months, amassing huge views in the United States (203M), Brazil (89.3M), the United Kingdom (75.4M), France (42.3M), and the Philippines (38.9M).
• Houston’s Official Artist Channel has over 5.32M subscribers.

• Kygo's rework of Whitney Houston's classic "Higher Love" reached the YouTube Top Songs charts in over 30 markets globally.

And with only one music video left to cross one billion views mark, the current YouTube Top 5 list of music videos from the ‘90s is as follows:
