For Immediate Release - Black Panda PR - New York, NY - April 14, 2015 - American artist Rachel Mason is independently releasing an original 21 song cycle this May titled “The Lives of Hamilton Fish.” The film will have its D.C. premiere on April 22, 2015.

The songs tell the story of two men with the same name whose deaths were printed on the same front page of a newspaper,  a true coincidence that Mason herself discovered. One was a notorious serial killer and the other a famed politician from one of the country's oldest political dynasties
“The Lives of Hamilton Fish,” has been shown at film festivals, museums, concert halls internationally as a live-performed film. In the film, Mason plays the role of the newspaper editor who weaves a fantasy out of the details of the two men’s lives.

Rachel Mason has recorded ten full-length albums of songs, and has toured, screened films, exhibited sculpture, video and performance at the Queens Museum, Detroit Museum of Contemporary Art, School of the Art Institute in Chicago, Henry Gallery in Seattle, James Gallery at CUNY, University Art Museum in Buffalo, Sculpture Center, Hessel Museum of Art at Bard and Occidental College, Kunsthalle Zurich, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, The New Museum, Park Avenue Armory, Art in General, La Mama, Galapagos, Dixon Place, Human Resources, and Empac Center for Performance in Troy Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Artforum, The LA Times, Art in America, and FlashArt.
