Indie Art Rock Project herMajesty Returns to Rockwood Music Hall in NYC on Saturday, June 6 at 9:00 PM

Preview/Purchase Select New Tracks from “My Body, Your Mind EP” Releasing Fall 2015

Critics don’t seem to know what to make of them. Words like “psychedelic” and “spacey” get mentioned a lot. To my ears, this is straight emo/glam. Something between 1980s David Bowie and Morrissey.

“There's an early Joy Division quality to "Fashion Trance" which provides it with the sort of riveting allure that distinguishes it from much of herMajesty's contemporaries.”

“Have you ever had THAT DREAM, where you find yourself falling in slow motion off of a huge cliff or the top of a skyscraper? Your body plummets towards the ground at a snail’s pace, limbs flailing in a feeble attempt to take flight. The earth is rushing towards you achingly slow but with certain smashing death in its sights. And you are lost in the ether of falling, inching towards the end, but in a deliciously terrifying way. Yeah, that’s kinda what listening to herMajesty’s new single, “Days Turn to Nights” feels like.”

“I hear Broken Bells. I hear Coldplay. That should be enough for you to check this one (“Crystals”) out. Enjoy.”

For Immediate Release - Black Panda PR - New York, NY - May 29, 2015 -- herMajesty returns to play Rockwood Stage 2 in NYC, Saturday, June 6 @ 9:00 PM EST. Details here.

Their latest single “Fashion Trance” follows February’s “Days Turn to Nights,” and their July 2014 release “Crystals” featuring Fountains of Wayne guitarist Jody Porter’s psychedelic stamp.   The indie art rock project returns to the studio this summer to complete their forthcoming “My Body, Your Mind” EP and will playing dates throughout the Northeast in support this October.

The songs on the ep deal with love, loss, life, hopelessness, cycles of decay-rebirth, and faith through the use of metaphor. The body is a canvas and emotional memory receptor and where words don’t work,  a wall of psych-art sounds remains.

herMajesty has been putting out music consistently since forming in NYC several years ago. They’ve shared the stage with acts like B-52s, Tom Tom Club, Boxer Rebellion, Say Hi To Your Mom, and received airplay on tastemaker stations like KEXP FM in Seattle and WFUV FM in NYC.

herMajesty consists of JP (vocals, rhythm guitars, programming), David Leatherwood (guitars, backup vocals), Noga Shefi (bass), Dov Manski (keyboards) and Konrad Meissner (drums, percussion). Keyboards on “Crystals” were handled by Dayle Raymond Jellyman.
