Amy Winehouse (14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011) was a British singer-songwriter, known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including R and B, Soul, Jazz and her soulful, powerful contralto vocals. Her exceptional career came to an abrupt halt at the age of 27, when on 23 July 2011, she was found dead in bed at her North London home, after suffering from a seizure.
