Bastille on being known for having a huge hit: 'We've created weird little worlds'

Bastille have opened up about dealing with the aftermath of scoring a huge hit single, which they achieved with their breakthrough offering 'Pompeii'.

Chatting to Britain's Evening Standard newspaper recently, frontman Dan Smith explained that he wants to show the public that there's a lot of substance to their musical back catalogue and they have created "weird little worlds" that are waiting to be discovered:

“Something that comes with having a hit is that you exist in a space where a massive amount of people only know you for one thing. But I want it to be as rewarding as possible for the people who want to engage with all the other stuff — the mixtapes, the videos, the artwork — there are loads of layers. For some people we’re just a song they heard on the radio, and for others there are all these weird little worlds we’ve created.”

Earlier this month, the band announced a run of UK tour dates that will be in support of their album 'Wild World' and the jaunt will see them perform live in Cardiff, Bournemouth, Leeds, London and Glasgow. Click here for more details.
