Bon Jovi aim to last as long as The Rolling Stones

Jon Bon Jovi has revealed that he hopes his band keep going as long as The Rolling Stones do.

The ‘Living on a Prayer’ hitmakers celebrate their 30th anniversary this year, but rock legends The Rolling Stones have already turned 50, showing no signs of slowing down as they headlined Glastonbury Festival last weekend and Hyde Park this weekend.

Jon Bon Jovi told the Daily Star: “The Rolling Stones are my gauge. It could be a day, it could be 20 more years. I wish Mick would just stop so I knew where the end was.”

The band headlined the first night of Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park last night accompanied by Kaiser Chiefs and Bush as support. However, Bon Jovi reckons that they could have filled the park alone.

”In truth, I can play to that many people with my own production. I don’t really need 10 support bands,” he said.

“That’s one good thing about being me – I can just say: ‘I want to go on now’ and I go on. If I want to play three hours, that’s what I do.”
