Ed Sheeran's 'x' tops midweek UK albums chart

Ed Sheeran's 'x' is on course to spend another week at No.1 in the UK.

The record, which was released in June, is top of the list on the Official Charts Company's midweek update today (December 10).

If it stays put come Sunday (December 14), 'x' will have spent a total of ten weeks at No.1.

At No.2 on the midweek update is Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour', with One Direction's 'FOUR' following at No.3.

Olly Murs' 'Never Been Better' has risen from No.6 to No.4 whilst Take That's 'III' drops from No.1. to No.5.

Union J's new record 'You Got It All' meanwhile is a new entry at No.19.
