Ed Sheeran on BRITs: 'It was one of the best nights of my life'

Ed Sheeran has spoken out about his pride after winning 2 prizes at last night's (February 21) BRIT Awards ceremony.

The talented singer-songwriter was given the British Breakthrough trophy and was also named the Best Male Solo Artist, beating Jessie J, The Vaccines and Emeli Sandé, and told Capital FM that the event was undeniably one of the highlights of his career so far:

"My night was probably one of the best nights of my life I had my family and friends here and it was just amazing I feel really elated and thank you to anyone who has supported so far."

Sheeran took to social networking site Twitter after the 2012 BRITs and thanked his 1.5 million followers for their support: "Had the most amazing night, thank you all so much for everything."

He also shared with them a photograph of a BRIT Award made entirely of Lego.
