Emeli Sandé has been confirmed as the first live performer to appear on the UK's debut series of The Voice.

Earlier this evening (April 11), the talent show's official Twitter account posted a public message that revealed the exciting news:

"*Voice news* Our first confirmed guest performer for #TheVoiceUK live shows is... @emelisande! She's amazing. We're excited. Details soon."

The first live show of The Voice is set to air in May following the 'battle' rounds, which will take place later this month after the blind auditions have finished. The date of Sandé's performance is yet to be confirmed.
