McFly star Dougie Poynter has dismissed speculation of romance between himself and Ellie Goulding.

The musician has been spotted with the 'Burn' star on a few occasions recently but he told the Jonathan Ross show that it is all just platonic.

He said: "We're friends."

Goulding meanwhile apologised earlier this year after failing to kiss Poynter on the 'Kiss Cam' at an NBA game in London.

The musical duo were sitting together, but they didn't lock lips when the cameras zoomed in on them.

Ellie Goulding meanwhile bagged a BRIT Award this week - the British Female Solo Artist gong.
