On the heels of her punchy-pop debut album We Loved Her Dearly, Lowell has released her brand new EP ‘Part 1: PARIS YK’ today through Arts& Crafts. Mixing Lowell’s ethereal vocals with hip-hop percussion and described by Metro as “Dreamy, driving electro pop…fit for a 1980’s movie’ the final track on the EP, ‘West Coast Forever’, is a late song of the summer contender. Part 1: PARIS YK features production by Grammy and Juno Award-nominated Zale Epstein (Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q), Davey Badiuk (Dragonette, Tegan and Sara), and Lowell herself. The new EP looks back on a formative period of Lowell’s life, inspired by the grey-scale landscape of Canada’s Yukon, the far-northern territory where she spent time growing up. Reflecting the northern lights and tundra with synonymous sound, Lowell blends music and image, contrasting the stark Canadian North with her vibrant life as a musician.
