Vispa steps back in time resurrecting a retro electro-synth sound

Artist: Vispa
Track: ‘Cosmic Force’

Release Date: 02/06/17

Iranian electronic artist, Vispa, is taking us back in time with his throwback synth sound, comparable to the vibrant sounds of the 80s.

The colourful and eclectic world of electronic music has been a part of Vispa’s life ever since he was a teenager, picking up records by the likes of Jean-Michael Jarre, Kitaro and Vangelis, taking him towards the more compositional and orchestral side of the genre.

However, for his debut single, ‘Cosmic Force,’ Vispa has employed a more dance-infused form of electronica that displays both compositional talent as well as precision in creating infectious beats. To accompany the single, Vispa will also be releasing an EP of the same name featuring remixes of the track in the near future.

At the age of 19, Vispa finally decided to attend a music class where he learnt his trade, perfecting his skills on keyboards and synthesizers. This then led to the talented musician beginning to compose his own music, arranging melodies and experimenting with tunes, playing by ear.

Categorising his sound under the sub-genres of ‘synth-pop’, ‘space music’ and ‘electro-orchestral’, Vispa finds inspiration from all over the musical world, taking influence from other notable artists such as classical legend Hans Zimmer, Tangerine Dream, Depeche Mode and synth icons, The Pet Shop Boys.

As well as music, Vispa also takes a strong interest in space and astronomy which interestingly formed the basis for ‘Cosmic Force’. Vispa’s daydreams of galaxies and the world beyond paved the way for meditations on his music and he consequently decided that he wanted the track to take on a more progressive nature, with an increasingly complex feel to it, as can be seen when listening to ‘Cosmic Force’.
