Rihanna confirms Diamond Ball to support her foundation

Bajan beauty Rihanna has confirmed that she will hold her first Diamond Ball next month, which will benefit her foundation that promotes education and arts globally.

Rihanna founded the Clara Lionel Foundation back in 2012 and named it after her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, and on December 11 she will host the "elegant and inspirational" black tie event at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills, California.

Speaking about the ball, which will have around 600 guests including celebrities, the 'Umbrella' superstar explained: "One of the greatest benefits of my job was being able to start the Clara Lionel Foundation in honour of my grandparents. There is truly nothing I’m more proud of and we’ve just gotten started. I’m excited to continue my work and thrilled to be able to host the Diamond Ball – a night that promises to be elegant and inspirational.”

A message on the foundation's official website explains that Rihanna will also perform at the event: "Table and ticket packages will include dinner, a live auction and very special, intimate performance by Rihanna, who will be accompanied by a live orchestra."
