Sean Paul wanted Superbowl duet

Jamaican rapper Sean Paul admits that he wanted to join Beyonce onstage at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

As part of a medley featuring some of her top hits, Beyonce performed her 2003 duet with Sean Paul ‘Baby Boy’ at the event, but with Paul’s part prerecorded. Though he says he was glad people still wanted to hear the track, he wished he could have performed it live.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Paul said: "I was in my little studio watching it and everyone around me was upstairs watching it on TV screaming. I was just sat there with my mouth open. It was great. It's always great to hear her do that song.

"It would have been better if I'd got to perform it with her as we've only ever done two or three performances of that song together. It's been years since, but the Super Bowl was her opportunity and she did great."

He added: "What meant a lot to me was that fans voted for five songs that they wanted to hear and one of them was 'Baby Boy'. I'm glad people still remember that track and have kept it in earshot."
