Sia has revealed that her next single was originally penned for Adele.

The Australian previously announced that she has been working on a new record called 'This Is Acting'.

It will be a collection of tracks that she originally started writing for other artists.

Speaking to reporters at the Venice Film Festival, Sia confirmed that her next single will be called 'Alive' - and that it was meant for Adele's forthcoming record.

She added: "I'm calling [the album] This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn't go into it thinking, 'This is something I would say'.

"It's more like play-acting. It's fun."

The record meanwhile is rumoued for a late September release.
