Simon Cowell has revealed that he is trying to persuade Cheryl Cole to return to the UK X Factor.

The singer was a popular fixture on the TV talent show for three years between 2008 and 2010 before leaving to try the US edition.

However, that turned sour after she was dumped before the show even made it onto TV.

Cowell has now confirmed that he is in talks with the 'Call My Name' beauty about a return to the show - but he isn't sure if she will say yes.

The music mogul told Bang Showbiz: "To be fair to Cheryl, it hasn't been about the money with her. It's about whether she wants to do it and whether she can handle the pressure, so I'm not quite sure yet [if she will come back]. She had her poker face on."

Cowell meanwhile confirmed recently that he will take up a seat on the judging panel this year.
