Ja Rule is working on a new reality show despite the fact he is starting a two and a half year prison sentence in March.

The rapper, who was convicted of a gun charge relating to his 2007 arrest, says the show will focus on the months leading up to the beginning of his jail term.

"My reality show, I like it because it's showing a strong black family going through a tough time," says Rule. "And how we band together as a family and how my wife and kids, my moms and her moms, bond together during this tough time when I have to go in."

"It's really a good show and it shows black love in a good way," he added.
