U2 will play a song at this year's Oscars.

The Irishmen will run through their track 'Ordinary Love', which is nominated for the Best Original Song gong.

It features in the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and it has already won a Golden Globe this year.

This year's Academy Awards are due to take place in Hollywood on March 2.

U2 meanwhile recently unveiled the video for their new single 'Invisible'.

The tune was originally launched during the Super Bowl before going up for free download for a day, with the Bank of America donating $1 to charity for every download.

It raised a total of $3 million.
