Adele's '21' UK's best-selling album of the millennium

Adele's hit record '21' has been named as the best-selling album in the UK this millennium.

The singer released the effort in 2011 and the Official Charts Company have confirmed that it has sold 4,740,000 units in the UK so far.

This makes it the biggest selling record in the UK of the 2000s.

Second on the list is Amy Winehouse's 2006 album 'Back to Black', which has sold 3,560,000 units.

James Blunt's 'Back to Bedlam' is No.3, whilst Leona Lewis's 'Spirit' is No.4.

Dido's 'No Angels' meanwhile has sold 3,080,000 copies to make it the fifth best selling record of this millennium.

The highest ranked non-Brit on the list is Michael Bublé, whose 2009 record 'Crazy Love' is No.7.
