Adele's 'Hello' becomes fastest video to reach 1bn views on YouTube

Adele's 'Hello' video has reached one billion views on YouTube.

The video, which was released in October, only took 87 days to reach the milestone.

This means it is the fastest clip to reach one billion views on the platform.

Previous record holder Psy and his 'Gangnam Style' clip took 158 days.

YouTube state that there are 17 videos on the streaming service to have reached one billion hits.

They include 'Chandelier' by Sia, 'Counting Stars' by OneRepublic and 'Love The Way You Lie' by Eminem.

YouTube wrote in its blog: "A few years ago, only PSY's Gangnam Style and Justin Bieber's Baby had reached the milestone.

"And Baby took over four years to get there. Of the 17 videos that have reached one billion, four of these were released last year.

"While one billion views is rare, it's occurring at a faster rate.

"Since 2014, the number of days to reach one billion views has dropped dramatically. In 2013, the fastest track to one billion was Katy Perry's Roar at 487 days.

"In 2014, it was Taylor Swift's Blank Space at 238 days.

"In 2015, Adele managed to set the bar at 87 days."
