Train's seventh studio album 'Bulletproof Picasso' is out this week but only because they're not a young band.

Frontman Pat Monahan said: “The album is dead. There are a few artists who can still sell albums, and we’re one of them, but if we were a young band we’d probably just make a five-song EP.

“If we were starting out now we wouldn’t be trying for a record deal. To exist record companies need half your ticket sales, and we wouldn’t be interested in that.”

However, Train have a 20 year history and founded the Save Me San Francisco Wine Company to boot which may explain why now they are up for party more than ever before on the road, Monahan said:

“I didn’t drink for the first 17 years of our career, now I’m hammered all the time. It’s fun because we’re adults, not waking up in some girl’s house and wondering what the hell happened.”
