Take That given up hope of reunion with Jason Orange
Take That have admitted in a new interview that they have finally given up hope of reuniting with their former band member Jason Orange.
The UK male group originally consisted of Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen.
Williams quit the band in 1995, but returned in 2010 for the Progress album and tour, before parting ways again a year later. Orange quit the band in 2014, leaving Barlow, Donald and Owen as a trio.
Barlow then went on to do a new talent show titled, Let It Shine, in which himself and a panel of judges scouted a new Take That to star in The Band – a musical based on Take That’s greatest hits. The show is about five teenage girls, the women they become, and the boyband they follow for 25 years.
In a recent interview with The Sun ahead of the big opening night at Manchester Opera House for the musical, Barlow admitted Orange's lack of interest in being creatively involved with the lad's new show, ended up causing the definitive split.
He admitted he has been telling them for a while now: 'I don't want to be in music anymore, I don't want to do this anymore'.
Barlow revealed Orange said: “He didn’t want creative involvement because we’re day-to-day on this and he wanted to leave.
"At the end of the day you've got to accept someone doesn't want to do what you're doing anymore.
"He wanted to go off, live his life, and good luck to him if that's what he wants to do. He's spent a big part of his life being in the band, but he doesn't want to do it anymore, it's that simple."
Howard Donald added: "We're to and fro with emails. It's a difficult one really.
"He's involved in everything that goes on and he is sent every draft... but you can send Jason an email and you get one back a month later.
"That's how chilled he is - or he's that far behind with technology."
Despite Orange going his own way and Williams rejoining from time to time, Take That say they have no plans for a permanent reunion, other than their 30th anniversay in 2020.
Barlow previously revealed: "We're planning something to do for the 30-year all together.
"We're looking that far ahead, something big, maybe a new record, maybe a greatest hits with a big tour."
