Justin Timberlake has joked that 'N Sync and One Direction should team up to make a boyband supergroup.

The American pop stars reunited briefly at the recent MTV VMAs ceremony, but there are no plans to continue that reformation.

However, 'Mirrors' star Timberlake quipped on ITV's Daybreak that they should collaborate with their younger counterparts One Direction. He said:

"Really, can ten of those hairstyles be on the same stage? I think we already know the answer. We should just form some supergroup. It'd be hilarious."

The singer added: "What I have seen [of One Direction], I like them. They seem grounded to me, I like that about them."
