Pop sensation Katy Perry has delighted her fans in North America by announcing an exciting tour that will kick off later this year in support of her latest studio album, 'Prism'. 

Writing on her official Twitter page this evening (January 15), Perry asked her followers teasingly: "What do @capitalcities, @KaceyMusgraves and @teganandsara all have in common?"

She then quickly returned to the social networking site after a brief pause and confirmed that she will be heading out on a huge new tour of cities across the USA, following a campaign in which she asked fans to give great reasons as to why she should visit their hometowns. 

Country singer Kacey Musgraves, electro-pop act Capital Cities and 'Closer' hitmakers Tegan and Sara (both pictured below) will provide main support for the dates. As soon as the news was announced, Musgraves tweeted: "Ima big ol' @katyperry fan and I CANT WAIT to join her on her #PrismaticWorldTour this summer in the US!! More deets very soon!!"

Tegan and Sara echoed the sentiment and added: "As long time fans of @katyperry we are overjoyed to be joining her on the 3rd leg of her North American tour!! More info coming later today! We can’t wait to get out on the road with @katyperry and play to her amazing audience!"
