Katy Perry has been dubbed the 2013 Queen of Twitter after gaining the most amount of followers this year.

The singer bagged 15 million new fans on the social networking hub over the last twelve months.

She currently has almost 49 million followers in total, making her the most popular person on the website.

Justin Bieber added 13.8 million new fans on Twitter this year, whilst Lady Gaga secured 7.6 million.

Katy Perry meanwhile is due to take her Prismatic tour to the UK next year for its debut run.

She will kick things off at the Newcastle Arena on May 10 before hitting a number of arenas across the country in promotion of her 'Prism' album.
