Katy Perry on religion: "I believe in a higher power bigger than me"

Katy Perry has admitted that she believes in a higher power but not the idea of heaven and hell.

The singer was born into a strong Christian family, with her parents both working as preachers.

However, the US star told Marie Claire that she no longer identifies with the traditional notions of heaven and hell.

"I don't believe in a heaven or a hell, or an old man. sitting on a throne. I believe in a higher power bigger than me, because that keeps me accountable. Accountability is rare to find, especially with people like myself, because nobody wants to tell you something you don't want to hear."

Perry meanwhile has just released a 'making of' clip for her 'Unconditionally' video - check it out below.
