Barbra Streisand says her new album nearly featured Beyoncé

Barbra Streisand has revealed that Beyoncé was mooted to appear on her new album.

The veteran singer released her new effort 'Partners' in the UK on Monday (September 15) and it sees a host of big name duets feature.

The likes of Stevie Wonder, John Mayer and Jon Legend all star on the record - but Streisand told Billboard that Beyoncé nearly made the cut.

However, there wasn't enough time to complete the song.

She said: "She had her people try to do a track of one of the songs from my movie A Star Is Born, and it just...we didn't have the time to finish it, to get it right.

"We had to release the album. Maybe someday we'll do a duet because she's so great."
