New Found Glory deny latest video mocks 5 Seconds of Summer

New Found Glory have reaffirmed that their latest video is not poking fun at 5 Seconds of Summer.

The pop-punks recently released the video for their track 'Ready and Willing'.

The clip looks at what a poppier version of New Found Glory might have looked like as teenagers in today's world.

Some people have suggested that this was poking fun at 5 Seconds of Summer - something that singer Chad Gilbert has denied.

He told the Houston Chronicle: “I don’t know how it could be 5 Seconds of Summer, because they aren’t the first poppy type of band. There is nothing in that video that you can parallel to 5 Seconds of Summer. That video was about the past 10 years about bands that get manufactured. It was more making fun of a lot of people who think if something isn’t packaged a certain way younger fans may not react to it as well.

"I even e-mailed the dudes from 5 Seconds Of Summer straight up and told him ‘we made a video that was a young, pop versions of ourselves and some people think it is about you, but it is really ourselves'. And they were like, ‘we know, we love the video'. People are going to think what they want to formulate opinions and that is cool, but [the point of the video was] there are some manufactured elements in music."
