Slipknot on course for second US No.1 album

Slipknot are expected to land their second US No.1 album next week.

The metal group released their new effort '.5: The Gray Chapter' in the country on Tuesday (October 21).

Billboard have confirmed that it is expected to sell over 100,000 units in its first week to give Slipknot their second No.1 album in the US.

They first achieved that feat with 2008's 'All Hope Is Gone', with their previous highest-charter coming in the shape of 2004's No.3 placed 'Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)'.

Neil Diamond's 'Melody Road' meanwhile is expected to sell around 70,000 units in its first week.

The full chart will be unveiled on October 29.
