Years & Years claim the midweek No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'King'

Dance trio Years & Years, who won this year’s BBC Sound Of 2015 poll, have shot into the midweek singles chart at No.1 with their new offering, 'King'.

They hit the top spot this afternoon (March 4) with the track and it is currently 32,000 copies ahead of its nearest competitor, which is Ellie Goulding’s 'Love Me Like You Do'(No.2). Marlon Roudette is on track to make his Top 5 debut on Sunday with the steel drum infused cut 'When The Beat Drops Out' (No.3).

Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s collaboration 'FourFiveSeconds' is up one place to No.4, Hozier’s 'Take Me To Church' is at 5, and Taylor Swift climbs nine places to No.19 with 'Style' after she recently released the music video for the song

21-year-old British producer Alex Adair has a new entry at No.8 with 'Make Me Feel Better' and Imagine Dragons’ 'Demons' has shot up 40 places to sit at No.20, and the final positions will be confirmed this coming Sunday (March 8).
