Judges' categories for the new 'X Factor' series have been announced

This year's 'X Factor' series got off to a rocky start after the show attracted the lowest ratings to date, but the judges' categories have now been announced and this news may spice things up a little.

Rita Ora will mentor the girls, Nick Grimshaw has the boys, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been given the groups, and music mogul Simon Cowell will be in charge of the over 25s.

Cowell, meanwhile, wasn't too happy with the decision as he tweeted:

"Wasn't the category I was expecting. I did win last year with the Overs so I'm sure we will do great things this year."

Grimshaw recently told press at the show's launch that he might ask Harry Styles to join him during the judges' houses portion of the competition: "Yeah, I think so. I kinda want Miley Cyrus, no offence; but I would ask him yeah. I think he'd be a good judge because he's been through it all, hasn't he? He knows what's going on and they've done alright, they've done okay. So yeah maybe he's a good shout, actually."
